WWE Extreme Rules

WWE Extreme Rules

In a event, that in my opinion was as total flop, especially for a brand exclusive PPV, WWE Extreme Rules was anything but. Let’s start with the Kickoff Show match Kalisto vs. Apollo Crews, first, shouldn’t Kalisto be on 205 Live? (Another argument for another time.) Why not just leave Kalisto out of it and get where they’re going which is a feud between Apollo and Titus O’Neil.

The IC title match was a total joke, with The Miz and Maryse doing everything to get Dean Ambrose disqualified, only to have The Miz win with The Skull Crushing Finale. The Tag Title match was another joke, Sheamus & Cesaro defeat the Hardy’s in a steel cage match that was just trash from the get go, Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley was the same way, Bayley gets to the Kendo stick first, then…NEVER USES IT! Only to be used as Alexa Bliss’s whipping boy in what was a glorified squash match. Then all this build up for Austin Aries vs. Neville 3, Aries makes Neville tap, but on the outside, and then to have Neville win clean, just seems incomplete. Then the Fatal 5-way match, I must admit, I went into this match thinking that Roman Reigns was going to win and get his chance at Lesnar early, only to see a refreshing change of pace and see an absolute dream match become reality, as now in July at Great Balls Of Fire Brock Lesnar will defend the Universal Title (30 day rule? What 30 day rule?) against Samoa Joe, this is a match I’ve been waiting to see since Joe’s days in TNA when he was the most dominant NWA champion in recent memory.

And if rumors are to be believed, Roman Reigns should be getting an IC title match against The Miz, as it has been rumored that Reigns and Miz would feud after Reigns’ feud with Braun Strowman was finished, and with Strowman out for 6 months, I’d call the feud over…
