Tonight, I was treated to a good night of pretty descent wrestling action, the night started off with the 5 women who will compete in the 1st ever Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match, one week from Sunday at the Smackdown exclusive PPV, aptly named Money In The Bank, but as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella and Tamina jawed back and forth, Smackdown Women’s champion Naomi came to the ring, as their was also a 6-woman tag match scheduled to kickoff SD Live, as all this was going on, Lana made her long awaited Smackdown Live debut, and all hope that she would drop the Russian gimmick went out the window when she spoke with her annoying Russian accent.
Anyhow, Lana staked her claim to the Smackdown Women’s championship, saying she could defeat Naomi, but Shane McMahon wouldn’t allow her to enter the MITB ladder match. Furious, Lana stormed off, only to return and cost Naomi a chance to defeat Tamina, furious, Naomi went to Shane McMahon and demanded that she face Lana at MITB for the Smackdown Women’s championship, which Shane granted. Now, never having seen Lana compete, I’m not sure if this is a wink and a nod to the Tits & Ass era of WWE’s Women’s division, where the big tits of Trish Stratus, and the so-called ass of Lita were the two main draws, I hope Lana has some in ring ability, otherwise she’ll look like nothing more than a rookie against Naomi.
Can someone tell me what the appeal of Breezango is? To me their just two feminine hygiene products (you know the kind made with vinegar and water…) trying too hard at the comedy schtick, which let’s face facts, The New Day and The Usos have down pat, I don’t know who is doing the material for Jimmy & Jey, but them two are hilarious, and The New Day are naturally charismatic, should make for an interesting bout at MITB.
And the build up for the Men’s MITB match is awesome as it will be, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler and Shinsuke Nakamura battling for the contract.
And 205 Live, wasn’t anything spectacular, the TJP vs. Neville main event was entertaining, I got to wonder, since WWE didn’t put the Cruiserweight championship on A Double, who else is there to defeat Neville?
