The Week In Wrestling

You realize between watching ROH, Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live, 205 Live, NXT, Main Event, GFW Impact and New Japan, I literally watch 12 hours of wrestling a week…and on some weeks…it SUCKS!

I mean, seriously, I turn the Fite App on at 7 and watch ROH, and it’s a nice start to the evening, as I’ve often said, Colt Cabana is the lone stand out on commentary, and the deal with New Japan is a great one, being able to watch Japanese wrestlers is outstanding.

Ok, I’m getting off topic, anyhow the week that was. I already reviewed ROH and Raw, so, let’s look at SmackDown and 205 Live. AJ Styles and John Cena I would like to think are on a collision course for the US title, of course after Styles is finished with Kevin Owens, and Cena is done with Rusev. But, now, again at Battleground, there will be yet another Fatal 5-way to determine the #1 contender for the SmackDown Women’s championship between Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Tamina & Lana. And the winner faces Naomi at SummerSlam, and of course there is still the matter of Carmella having the Money In The Bank contract, which odds are she’ll cash in at SummerSlam in Brooklyn.

And speaking of Money In The Bank, I have the feeling that Baron Corbin is going to cash in in Philadelphia at Battleground, especially considering that the main event is going to be a Punjabi Prison Match for the WWE Championship between Jinder Mahal & Randy Orton.

On NXT, Drew McIntyre will face Killian Dane and the winner faces Bobby Roode at Takeover: Brooklyn in August. *SPOILER ALERT* It will be McIntyre facing Roode.

And Asuka will once again face Ember Moon for the NXT Women’s Championship.

One match that happened last Wednesday, The Authors Of Pain defeated Heavy Machinery in a match I wished they saved for Brooklyn.

On Impact, Unified champion Alberto El Patron was introduced as the newest member of LAX, but turned them down, and LAX turned on him, and he was rescued by, of all people Bobby Lashley. And in the main event of the event, LAX faced Lashley & El Patron, in which, I thought El Patron would turn on Lashley and join LAX, unfortunately that didn’t happen, but after Lashley and El Patron won, Lashley left El Patron the be destroyed by LAX.
